Judas Sheep or Goat

Christian Inspiration

Judas Sheep/Goat

I recently learned the term Judas sheep, or Judas goat: an animal trained to lead a flock or tribe of its kind, to slaughter.

I find this to be an appallingly fascinating true to life practice. Who better, than one of our own kind, or in the case of unwitting sheep and goats, their own kind, to lead us to slaughter dear reader? People being herded by other people to their demise is not new, now is it? It is age old: we don’t have to look far in our human history to see atrocities, herding for the sake of hurting the uninformed, the vulnerable, those that trust their leaders and follow them without question.

Predators: sadistically satisfied
Predators only become known, after they have sadistically satisfied themselves with the shedding of innocent blood. They use decoys to lure people, into a sense of false security, hiding their agenda from eyes that look straight ahead, relying on the goat in front of them as a trusted leader: no questions asked. My heart beats rapidly as I type dear reader, recalling Nazi Germany, and the mentally manipulated men and women who willingly assisted in the mass murders of Gods own people. It makes me weep in the recalling. Hitler was a Judas goat, betraying and using his own people, leading them to their own slaughter by having them destroy Gods beloved, his created, those that bear his image: men, women and God help us all, children.
Another dark corridor of history
Now dear one, I take us down another dark corridor of history. We have religious rulers, hiring a goat, thinking he is their lure, the one willing to lead The Perfect Lamb of God to slaughter. The first Judas goat with the last name Iscariot, is infamous: forever known for this statement:
“I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood” (Matthew 27:4).
For thirty pieces of silver, which he attempted to return, Judas willingly turned away from God and toward earthly gain. He did not do this by himself dear one, his greed was baited, he could not work alone. He colluded with the authorities, one in particular:
Whose voice do you heed

“And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the number of the twelve. And he went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers how he might betray Him to them. They were glad and agreed to give him money. So he consented, and began seeking a good opportunity to betray Him to them apart from he crowd” (Luke 22: 3-6).

Fast forward
Let us fast forward to modern times, shall we? I dare to declare, that the forces of evil are at work in our world, today, this minute, this very second. The devils days are numbered and he is making the most of using his soldiers, in demonic solidarity. All they need do is hire some sheep and goats, willing to betray their fellow man, and lead them to a massive slaughter. I do not pretend to know all that is happening behind the scenes, I simply submit here, that I sense we are in grievous danger: I cannot help but wonder, who is leading and who is following without question, without censure?
Scripture is clear on this point:
“For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open” (Luke 8:17).
Scripture is also clear in this message:
“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me-just as the Father knows me and I know the Father-and I lay down my life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd” (John 10:14-16).
Conspiracy theories
Take this as you will dear reader. I may be sounding an alarm bell in your head or be dismissed as another Christian buying into conspiracy theories… in either case, if you have read to this point, I feel I have done my part in asking that we have our eyes opened to the possibility, that not all we see is all there is to be seen; that the baaaahhhhhing of the sheep in front of us and around us, are not the voices we are to listen to and heed.
There are two voices, one leads us to slaughter, One willingly laid down his life for his flock. The Good Shepherd is continually in charge: let us not, be led astray.
